Meet the fam.

Like I said in my bio I'm a mommy to two small children and step mom to an 18 year old daughter.  My husband is Colombian and we recently relocated to Bogota Colombia for his dream job.
Meet Alex my husband.
He's a great daddy, friend, hard worker and he makes me laugh like nobody else and drives me crazy in more ways than one.

Meet Tessa.
Tessa is two years old and she's sugar and a whole lotta spice. She is a sassy and funny little person and I love watching her grow.
Meet Ethan.
Ethan is a sweet and loveable little guy. He was born hungry and never stops eating. He babbles all day long so I know he's gonna be a talker just like his daddy.
Meet Aleja.
She's the one on the left. She's way smarter than I am. She's studying to be an engineer and can do calculus in her sleep. I've learned a lot about myself by having her in my life and I'm grateful for that.

6/24/14

I was sitting on the couch tonight with my two kids, Ethan and Tessa.  Ethan is 7 months old.  He is a happy, chubby baby.  The kid smiles at everything, really nothing gets him down.  Tessa is 2 1/2 and in the midst of the terrible twos.  I know underneath her sass she is still my sweet and beautiful baby girl.  Her favorite thing to say to me is "NO mama!"

Ethan was sitting in my lap cooing and smiling as usual so naturally Tessa felt she needed to jump on top of me as well.  When she did, she elbowed me with full force in the boob.  My instincts kicked in and I jerked my arm smacking her directly in the nose.  I was grabbing my boob and screaming "My boob!"  Tessa was grabbing her nose and screaming "My nose mama!"  Meanwhile, baby Ethan was laughing at us both.

After a few seconds Tessa perked up and said, "Mama, boobies?"  You see, she is obsessed with boobies at the moment, particularly my boobies.  I spend an inordinate amount of time breastfeeding her brother so this has become a major preoccupation for her.  She grabs them when my guard is down.  When she meets someone new she tells them, "Mama, boobies, baby."  Tessa even breastfeeds her baby dolls.

Two year olds are weird and funny and lovely all at the same time.  Tonight she elected to sleep in her Minnie Mouse tent and for some reason she took an umbrella to bed with her.  When I peeked in on her later she was curled up, umbrella in hand, snuggling it like a stuffed animal.

So that was the highlight of my day, getting stabbed in the boob by the elbow of a two year old.  Sounds boring, but its really never dull around here.  I'll take it.  I never laughed so much until I became a mom.
